Warhammer from a different angle

At the risk of spoils this book has very warhammer vibes. Except in a reverse fashion where humans are the defenders. The narrator does a great job too.

Excellent Space Combat!

This is absolutely fantastic space combat story telling. Good descriptions and world building with excellent pacing. Really enjoyed it.

The story was great, the changes in accent by the reader greatly enhanced the experience!

Military sci-fi, explore, expand, contact

Enjoyed the narration with a good storyline with a great pace that flowed well.

Future with mega cities and conflict with enough undercurrent of politics to screw any good soldier or captain just doing their job. Specially, when exploring the unknown.

World Building

Since this is the first book of the series it has a bigger focus on world/universe building rather than actual action but it dose pick up the pace by chapter 18

Great start to the series!

This book surprised me, it seemed in the same vein as the Expanse but more military, which for me is a good thing.

Good mix of characters and situations

Not long enough, would have liked more about the fighter squadron. Good story coverage of the marines

Great book and characters

Best book from Rick Partlow. He has grown as a writer and now the story and characters is amazingly good. I was a bit skeptical after reading a few bad books from others authors before this and this book surprised me. Looking forward to the next one.
