A book lasting 26 hours is a daunting thought but when you're suddenly hurled into Nora and Julian's terrifying world you just want to walk with them through more and more and even more. What an emotional ride Anna Zaires took me on with jaw-dropping reactions at the sensational dramatic twists, gripping suspense, heart-pounding highs and earth shattering lows. Three books rolled into one and I'm so pleased and grateful that I didn't need to wait anxiously for the next book to be released as the cliffhangers slowly came into sight.

Nora didn't get what she wanted for her Birthday..... instead she gets kidnapped by a breathtakingly handsome stranger she very briefly met at a Bar one night but she could never ever have imagined what he had planned for her..... or how it would devastatingly or wonderfully affect and change her life, her thoughts, her sexual desires and her way of thinking. Because Julian was a Sadist and a Sociopath who totally lacked any conscience or morals over his actions.... he wanted so he took.... and what he wanted was Nora. But pretty soon she became his obsession as well as his possession, his Achilles Heel, his distraction and eventually his saviour, his salvation and his whole world. However, first he had to break her, train her, possess her, mould her and show her that she was irrevocably forever his, his pet, to do with as he pleased.... and he wanted to do it often!! He was a beautiful monster..... handsome, self assured, confident, charismatic, frightening, charming and a very sexually skilled and demanding lover but underneath lay a controlling monster.

You'd think that you'd hate him but somehow, like Nora experienced, he gets under your skin and, in his way, he's kind, considerate, loyal and very thoughtful over everything to do with looking after Nora providing everything she could possibly want.... except her freedom. His personality traits are explained and then understood when shared later in the story. This is a very dark, gritty and raw romance which includes rape, BDSM, lots of scorching hot passion-filled sex scenes and a Sub/Dom type relationship. But it's so so much more too - because it slowly draws you into Julian's terrifying and dangerous world of violence, torture and many many deaths and all the while it's centred around the possessive, dynamic, dysfunctional and often disdainful relationship of two people that can't live, can't function and can't breathe without the other.

Was is Stockholm Syndrome, was it addiction or was it Nora's mind and body's way to cope and survive what was happening to it? Whatever the answer..... it turned into a deep all consuming love that had both Nora and Julian dramatically risking their lives to save each other and that's where the beauty of this story shone brightly. Because despite the abuse, pain, heartache, loss, grief, despair, fear and turmoil they fought together side by side for one another and came out of a deadly and emotional roller coaster the united Victors.

Worth a credit? I'll be honest, at the start there were parts that were harrowing to listen to, but it quickly drew me in like quicksand with all the questions yet to be answered, all the suspense and twists yet to be revealed, all the heartache yet to be felt and all the drama yet to unfold. This was a mind-blowingly awesome listen and, as my heart rate picked up, my pulse pounded, my senses were strung out and my sleep pattern was shattered.... I knew that I'd never ever ever heard a book quite like this before as I relished every second and that it's going to haunt me in the days to come as I ponder, savor and re-live this intense journey. Book 1 was Nora's POV, books 2 and 3 were thankfully dual POV's, great narration, a host of secondary characters and a strong Hero and Heroine who are both loveable but for very different reasons and YES a 10 star creditworthy epic listen..... but you have been warned!!

Listening to an audio book that is 25 hours long initially seemed to be a daunting task.... But the story line an narrators made me obsess about the next time I could listen... Great entertainment!!!

Nora is pathetic. No one to in the story to side with.

Nora is a young adult or teenager but the voice sounds like a grandmother.
