Frankie Ramirez never figured helping a twink in need would lead to him finding a bestie, but that's exactly what happened with Evan.
Living with him at Metropolis has been a dream come true. Evan's sexy, kind, knows how to make Frankie smile, and he's both hilarious and confident when he sings his heart out during karaoke. Evan's been dealt a bad hand, and Frankie likes being there for him, but Evan does the same for Frankie. When life gets heavy, nothing fixes it like movies, Chinese food, and Evan.
After the betrayal of his dick of an ex, Evan Lockhart has a hard time getting close to people. But the one guy he can always count on is his laid-back, adorable, beanie-wearing bestie, Frankie. Frankie is fiercely loyal and protective - exactly what Evan needs in his life right now. Evan tells him everything, but when he finds himself curious to explore something a little unusual - maybe a little strange - he worries about what will happen if Frankie finds out.
But who better to explore your closet kink with than your best friend? Evan and Frankie know they're strong enough not to let something like this get between them. And really, is there any harm in just trying it?

I've never been interested in reading anything related to this kink, but once again, this duo created an emotionally captivating storyline with the most genuine characters.
Evan... This sweet boy deserved his happily ever after... and Frankie was his perfect reality!
Naration was amazing as always!

Michael Pauley is simply amazing... as I have heard at least 20 of his books before... BUT, in this book, at times I felt the voices got mixed up. I had to pay extra attention to who was speaking. A bit frustrating. I would have wanted the two main characters to sound distinct from one another. And, I felt they were always whining.
Outside of "puppy play", I couldn't really get into the story. How does one live with a model for two years and nothing happened. The "past hangups" kept going on and on. Get over it! Grow some balls! :) There was nothing masculine about these characters. I felt this to be lacking in the book.
Overall, this was my least fav story. I loved the cameos by Derek. Love him!! Can't get enough of him.
Get ready for Puppy Play

the story itself outside of the puppy play with a bit exhausting. I am not sure why Frankie felt the need to hold on to what happened to him as a child. I get that things that happen to us in our childhood always leave a lasting effect on us but it felt like that was the center of his entire life and I just seem too far-fetched for me.
Also this may sound weird but I felt like they both whined too much for me. They just seemed to be sappy the whole time.
This is painful to say but this was not my favorite performance from Michael Pauley. The Voice he did for Frankie's mom got under my skin and I felt that there were times where I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be Frankie talking or Evan. and I know this sounds weird but he's narrated the entire series and the voice he does for Frankie in Owning It is completely different from the voice he does in this book I wish he would have kept it the same.
Now can we please get a Daddy Jackson and Derrek wedding!!!!
kudos for puppies.
