I hated this book till it got to the revenge part. it is fantastically written which kept me locked in from the start. The subject matter is heavy but I was looking horror that went beyond what I have grown bored of and this delivered. it's still not what I was looking for but a fun step along the way.

when it comes to the big dawgs of splatterpunk and extreme horror, Volpe is top tier. His books are graphic and visceral but not at the sacrifice of a great story, like a lot in the genre tend to do.

I couldn’t stop listening! The narrator did an absolutely amazing job with the characters! Soooooo good!!!!

Superb!!

I’ve heard splatter punk has a lot of violence against just women and that put me off of the genre but this is a really good book that favors both genders mutilation/death. It’s a great story about a woman taking back her power and saving the world from horrible men.

Female Revenge Story

Finally! It’s been a while since I had a book turn my stomach a bit. The writing was wonderfully bloody and disgusting and the narration was *chefs kiss* great job to both author and narrator!

Volpe never disappoints

I really enjoy a great revenge story. Talia is probably the most underrated anti hero of 2023. I had read both Talia and Talia 2. It’s gritty, explosively grotesque, and even traumatic making the revenge so much more sweeter. It’s not everyone cup of tea for sure so check your triggers.

Sierra Kline did a superb job with the text. Her voice changes weren’t campy or clownish. You can tell she took this on seriously and nailed the tone of the story. I would be so happy if she did Talia 2. I don’t think anyone else can read a Daniel Volpe other than her.

The narrator did a perfect job at telling the story and although it was quite short, it was really good. There is a second one, but it’s not available on Audible, which sucks because I would like to hear more about this character for sure.

This is my first reading/listening to anything by Author Daniel J. Volpe. This book was highly recommended to me many times as I love anything that is horror-revenge.
The narrator was fabulous. Kline brought all characters to life and I will be seeking out books narrated by her in the future.
Volpe's writing in Talia is great. I received a complete visual of everything going on and could often 'smell' the scenes being described, and I was completely engaged through part one. I was feeling everything that all the characters were feeling. Then, part 2 came and I was completely underwhelmed. It felt completely rushed and I did not feel the 'satisfaction' I get at the end of a good Revenge book. I believe my take would be very different and I would love it from start to finish if it were one of my first introductions to the Genre. I highly recommend this book to newbies.
This did not stop me from purchasing Talia 2 though.
