Honey Phillips
Her grumpy orc neighbor has the best buns in town—and his baked goods aren't bad either!
When Elara flees corporate life to open a coffee shop in the small southern town of Fairhaven Falls, the last thing she is looking for is a relationship. But when she meets Grondar, the gruff orc owner of the bakery next door, sparks fly. Literally.
Grondar has been burned by human females before. He has no intention of letting the feisty little female next door get under his skin—no matter how attractive he finds her. And it certainly doesn't mean he's going to let her get away with sabotaging his business.
Despite their disastrous first meeting, Elara still finds herself having inappropriately heated thoughts about the massive orc next door. It doesn't help that every time he stomps over to lecture her, she ends up in his arms!
Can they overcome their initial animosity and their very obvious differences to find their happily ever after?
Cupcakes for My Orc Enemy is a sweet and steamy monster romance that is part of the Fairhaven Falls series.

(Spoilers) I think I would have enjoyed this more if it was a bit longer and if they didn’t give in to their mutual lust SO fast. They had a compelling meet cute but then I feel like it jettisoned instantly into a porno with the characters having no true conversations or interactions. The world building was promising, I like this town of “the others” and how open minded humans who interact with them are. I would have liked to hear more about the town than the orc’s nether region lmao.
It was intriguing that Grondar was so big and tough but also baked cupcakes and enjoyed feminine things. I also liked his relationship with his grandmother and his past hurt with a devious female human. The best scene of substance imo was the Gwendolyn altercation at the end, I would have liked to see more like that. The best steamy scene is def the bath scene, that gets a 5 out of 5 on its own. Still, I would have preferred more sweet throughout to balance out the steaminess. It felt like there was all lust and no love between them, their ultimate proclamations of love seemed forced and absurd to me.
It is also unclear if the grandmother and her witch friends set this entire romance in motion or if they just slightly manipulated it. Like, did they hire Elara just so she could meet Grondar and hopefully fall for him herself? Or did they entirely manipulate her heart and will all along? Elara seemed far too open to instantly screwing a gruff orc or any aggressive male for that matter. She seemed far too promiscuous for a woman who has never even had an orgasm before.
If you are looking for steaminess and more porn than plot, this is the book for you, especially if u enjoy steaminess with fantasy mixed in. I did overall enjoy this story but I’m glad it was free and I personally do not think this series is for me. I’ll see if this author and narrators have any works that are different.

Aaand.... Aiden Snow ❤️ His voice is so rich and intense. And smoky. 🤩

The romance was charming with just the right amount of steam, and the humor kept me grinning the whole way through. Bonus points for the audiobook experience—Aiden Snow’s narration was *chef’s kiss*, especially his spot-on female voice (how does he do it so well?!).
If you’re new to orc romances like I was, this is a fantastic place to start. Lighthearted, feel-good, and packed with personality. I’ll definitely be checking out more from this world!
**4.5/5 stars** – A sweet, funny, and surprisingly wholesome monster romance. Who knew orcs could be this adorable?
*(Perfect for fans of grumpy x sunshine pairings, lighthearted fantasy romance, or anyone who wants to dip their toes into monster romance without *too* much intensity!)*
Cute and fun

CUPCAKES FOR MY ORC ENEMY is first of Honey Phillips’ work that I’ve read although she’s been on my TBR pile for a while. This Monster Romance novella had me literally laughing out loud at some parts. The Grumpy/Sunshine dynamic between the main characters was delightful. Although there’s also an Enemies to Lovers trope going on with the story it was Grondar’s grumpiness that truly shown.
Although both Aiden Snow and Heather Firth have narrated a ton of books this was the first time I ever listened to a performance of either of theirs. They were both fantastic. I absolutely loved Snow’s growly voice for Grondor’s lines. Firth’s acting was wonderful and I her portrayal of Grondar’s grandmother was truly smile inducing.
Delightful Grumpy/Sunshine Dynamic
