    • Engrossing Tale
    • "Call the Midwife is about a world I came into. While I grew up on this side of the 'pond', the author speaks of a time I remember fondly...we had each other, which made us very strong, indeed...Call the Midwife depicts that time without judgment. It was just how things were...I found Call the Midwife a sweet and compelling tale of all that I prize– It's heart-opening and you feel like a better person for having listened to it. And I would be remiss if I failed to mention the sweet elegance of the reading. I've given it 5 stars, but I think I'd have given it 10, were that an option." – L. Buell

    • "This is not an easy listen. It is nevertheless an important listen. Although Ms. Gay has essentially provided her autobiography, it is more a glimpse into that hidden part in all of ourselves that we keep hidden from the outside world. As an individual who has experienced some of the same occurrences as Ms. Gay, and as someone that experiences daily the societal challenges as a person of size, I could relate to this story. More importantly though, this is a story for everyone who knows or loves someone who has suffered abuse or is obese. Make no mistake, this is Ms. Gay's story through and through. However, there is plenty here that should give one cause to pause and reflect." – La Rose, Audible Listener

    • "Every day I would tell someone a new fact that I learned from this book. The worst part about that is I would forget the fact from the days prior because I was so enthralled with the new stuff that I learned. I keep saying that I imagine the author as a shaggy hair, older gentleman who sits in an English pub nightly by the fire. He drinks only single malt scotch, his jeans are old and undoubtedly have some holes in them and he makes strict eye contact through his thick rimmed glasses while giddily telling you about the world we live in. The narrator fits this persona perfectly and he' a gem of a being to listen to. In short, I enjoyed listening to the book and gained a wealth of knowledge by doing so." – Melissa, Audible Listener
