About this listen
A missing king, a dark order, and three fragments of a demon king’s soul… a group of misfits must save Al’terra before a conquering demon is resurrected.
The Ranger’s Guild has fallen.
The enduring peace that has lasted two thousand years is now under threat. A dark order with one goal—bring back a demon king who nearly destroyed the world—rises to power.
And a veteran knight puts together a band of misfits to travel west under request from his king… for monetary gain. Bittle the Bull and his group are sent to Levendar, home of the wood elves, to take part in a gathering between multiple nations to discuss the fate of one of the dangerous demon soul fragments.
But Bittle’s own group is far from pristine; in his mind, they’re some of the worst traveling companions and make his life more difficult every step of the way. Splitting his focus between the mission at hand and his band of misfits might spell disaster…

Action adventure
N. R. Lawson wrote a work of art with Emergence. Phillip Polite did an amazing job on the narration. I was so immersed into the story I felt like I was in the middle of the everything. The story is interesting, entertaining, humorous, engaging and keeps you on your toes. It has it’s all adventures, action, paranormal, drama, some romantic, magic and plenty of fantasy.
The characters and plot are surprisingly composed. Underdogs and misfits are chosen to save the Al’terra from a dark order and the forces of evil. Magic is common knowledge. The only thing I didn’t like was the sound effects of the doors it was a little distracting. I did get this book for free for an honest review.

LitRpg wizardly
absolutely.fun and entertaining. the characters were brought to life more like we have we deal with every day and it was great but it was fantasy too so you got to take your wizardry with your normal life and when you stir it all up you never know what you're going to get but be careful where you point that wander that staff cuz you don't want to get into trouble.

Performance & Genre
Such an interesting genre. I felt like I was in the Narnia world while in The Lord of the Rings. I liked the sound effects, though the doors shutting were overly done. Could have been performed three times vs EVERY scene where a door was included. Otherwise no complaints. Phillip never disappoints me.

This Book is not for Me
I am several hours in and just can not stay interested in the story. It seems real disjointed. I am sure it might come together, but am still not into it.
