William M. Schmalfeldt, Sr. (1955- ) was born in Clinton, Iowa. His wanderings have taken him three-quarters of the way around the world thanks largely to his two tours in the U.S. Navy. A career in radio broadcasting, print journalism and finally as a writer-editor with the federal government ended in 2011 when Bill received an early disability retirement due to his Parkinson's disease. Several of his books deal with the humorous side of this degenerative neurological disorder. Bill's writings as a progressive satirist and humorist has earned him the eternal enmity of a small but virile and aggressive pack of right wing stalkers, one of whom has made it his business to offer false reviews on most of the books Schmalfeldt has published on Amazon. Schmalfeldt plans to stay as active as possible until he hears the crematory door latch shut at his feet.
