An author with three traditional westerns published, Will is also widely known for his custom built guitars and basses. He recently published a Christian fiction set in 2023 titled, The Valley of the Shadow and his autobiography, The Extraordinary Lives of Two Very Ordinary People went to print in late 2019.

Having been raised on a small farm in the foothills of the Appalachians in southeastern Ohio, Will has a rich heritage from there, including being taught to ride and shoot by the time he was eight by his grandfather, gentling horses to saddle, hunting and fishing, playing guitar since the age of fourteen and building and flying model airplanes as well as flying full size airplanes..
All those interests remain with him, though time limitations prevent extensive pursuit of some. His interests in aviation led to being an aviation electronics technician in the USN, an aircraft mechanic later on, then flight instructor and agriculture pilot endeavors and a continuing involvement in modeling. He competes extensively in precision aerobatics as a modeler with moderate success in the advanced class of that event.
