I was the nerdy kid who never got to join in with the other kids so, with my dog, Laddie, a rather ugly mutt of very uncertain pedigree, I invented worlds where I had special powers and was always the hero and Laddie was everything from my trusted sidekick, to a flying dragon or damsel in distress, but never the villain. He had much too big a heart to be bad. Anyway, the end result of my social rejection was that I began writing. It’s taken a long time to get the courage to publish one of my works.
