I was born in Wisconsin, lived for years in Japan, sailed around the world on a ketch, was detained for protesting nuclear weapons, and was harassed by the Stasi on the wrong side of the Wall. Other than that, my life has been fairly uneventful. I now live in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with a teen-age daughter and son (with all the admiration and despair that entails) and three cats, one pensive, one cuddly, one volatile.. And a perfectly satisfactory wife who abhors publicity. They all tolerate me. I have a scruffy beard, a bad right foot, and much too easygoing a nature for my own good. After I retired a few years ago, I remembered I used to write and decided to see if I still could do that. So far I have published two science fiction novels, two books of poetry, five collections of short stories, a correspondence with a Nigerian scammer, and a work on the iconic City through history. Their quality is for you to decide; I'm prejudiced. I am now working on a sequel to Dante’s Divine Comedy. I don’t know how to categorize myself, but I'm enjoying it all anyway, and hope others may also enjoy the results.
