Sean McEnroe’s wide-ranging scholarship has taken him into the archives and across the landscapes of Europe, Canada, the United States, Mexico and the Andes. His past publications embrace topics as varied as frontier studies, religious art, Mexican state formation, and Philippine independence. He is the author of From Colony to Nationhood in Mexico, a history of Indian citizenship in New Spain. He earned his doctorate in history at UC Berkeley, and previous degrees in history and education from Vassar College, Lewis & Clark College, and Portland State University. He lives in Ashland Oregon and works as a history professor at Southern Oregon University.
