Welcome. I have been writing since 1st grade, starting with short stories I would read in my basement haunted house (to raise money for muscular dystrophy at Halloween). Besides a lot of short stories, I would go on long walks with my three daughters and they each would give me a person, place and thing. I would then have to tell them a story as we walked using those three items. At 48, I faced the truth why I had not tried to publish anything before. If you don’t try, then no one can tell you you stink. Your dream can live on safely but unrealized. It was time to try. Two things were important to me on my first attempt. First, I wanted to combine two loves of mine, my daughters and mysteries. Second, I realized how blessed I am and wanted to give back. This is why a portion of each book goes to two charites. I wanted to write a book where the reader gets to use their imaganation. A book that is not graphic in nature but tells a good story. A book where you can easily tell the good guys from the bad guys. A book where the three sisters are close, strong, great daughters and living life to its fullest. These three sisters had to live somewhere special. Lake Alamo, Texas was born. Lake Alamo is part Manson, IA (home town), Lago Vista, TX (graduated High School), Excelsior, MN (near where we live), Mayberry, NC (The Andy Griffith Show was one of my favorite TV shows) and my imagnation. A town where you know your neighbors, kids ride their bikes without fear, families eat dinner at 6pm and you do not lock your doors. A town, on the lake, you would want to visit…..and maybe call home. So here it is. Time to put myself out there. I hope you enjoy the books. Rod
