Raised in San Diego, California, Richard Andreoli moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA. He majored in English Literature with an emphasis in Creative Writing and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He later developed his comedy writing and improv skills at The Groundlings school. While living in San Diego, Richard volunteered for Comic-Con International: San Diego (formerly San Diego Comic-Con), the largest pop culture convention in the United States. For more than 15 years he volunteered in their registration, treasury, and events departments. Later, after becoming a professional writer and editor, he returned to the organization and launched their 48-page quarterly publication. Richard’s professional writing career began by honing his humor and mainstream reportage for print publications such as The Advocate, Los Angeles Confidential, and CARGO Magazine. This led to the publication of his first book, Mondo Homo: Your Essential Guide to Queer Pop Culture, and appearances as a pop culture “expert” -- including on the TVLand special Inside TV Land: Tickled Pink. With this editorial experience, Richard relaunched the content sections of Gay.com and Gay.net for Here! Media. Later, he moved to the digital marketing agency Content.ad where he and his team conceived, developed, and launched the websites First To Know, Knoworthy, and TopKit, as well as relaunched the health website SuperFoodsRx. In the entertainment industry, Richard worked in project development with companies like MTV, HBO, and Warner Bros. before moving into screenwriting. He created bitchy dialogue and insane plotlines on the nighttime soap operas Fashion House, starring Bo Derek, Morgan Fairchild and Taylor Kinney, as well as on American Heiress, starring AnnaLynne McCord, Joe Manganiello, Robert Buckley, and Alicia Leigh Willis. Currently, he is the Creative Director for TV4 Entertainment, the global leader in OTT streaming with more than 30 genre-focused channels. And, in his spare time, he runs away with the circus. He currently performs at cabarets and clubs, and coaches classes at Cirque School Los Angeles.
