P J King was brought up in the country on a small farm, her father being a horse dealer, and she could ride before she could walk! Despite her rural upbringing, she decided to seek employment outside the equine industry and started her working life on the front line in an acute psychiatric hospital with a multi-disciplinary medical team. After some years, the innate draw and passion for horses lured her back and she is now a dressage trainer, judge and sports psychologist, living on her own stud farm in the South East of England. She is married with three children, and has a host of dogs and horses, together with the inevitable uniform of Hunter wellies and Barbours! Drawing on her own life experiences in the medical and equine industry, she decided to write about what she knew best, and to recreate some of the wonderful (or otherwise!) characters that she has met and weave them into a novel. Rough Ride is that story. She is now working on her second novel, in which some of the personalities created in Rough Ride reappear, but this story stands alone, and is about a country estate in Devon. The sequel to Rough Ride, and there is a rip roaring sequel, is already in its embryo form and should be published at the end of the year! Happy reading!
