Nicola Slade wrote short stories while her three children were growing up; her first novel, a romantic comedy, Scuba Dancing, was published in 2005 and since then she has been writing cozy mysteries with a sixth novel due out December 2013. She is currently writing two cozy series: Charlotte Richmond Investigates... set in the 1850s with a feisty young Australian widow as sleuth. Her contemporary series, The Harriet Quigley Mysteries feature recently retired headmistress Harriet with her cousin and sidekick, the Reverend Sam Hathaway, a Canon of Winchester Cathedral. Nicola's books are all set in and around the ancient city of Winchester in the south of England, near her home where she lives with her husband and a very fat cat.
