Born a Texan to a career Air Force officer and very Southern mother, she has been a pilot for more than fifty years, logging more than 5,000 hours of flight time in the U.S., Canada, Alaska, Mexico, Central America, the Bahamas, England, and Australia. She holds a commercial license (both single engine land and glider) with instrument rating as well as a tow pilot endorsement, and has been active in several aviation organizations, including the volunteer Airlifeline (now Angel Flight). Michelee has served as a hospital volunteer and CASA worker, as well as a museum docent. Powered by her training at Paris’ Cordon Bleu and membership in the august Chaine de Rotisseurs, she was several years a popular restaurant reviewer. Michelee has been married to her second husband, Harold Cabot, for more than 50 years, and is the mother of two super children and three charming step children. Her extended modern family includes a delightful array of daughters and sons-in-law and clever, beautiful "grands'" and "great-grands." She has lived in Alamos, Mexico, with her husband Hal for eighteen years. Though member of the Flying Octogenarians, she confesses to recently folding her wings to perch and look back on a whipperoo of a flying life. A member of the Alamos, Sonora Writers’ Group, she continues to write and has several works in progress. Her published books include Fly Over Down Under: Australian Adventures by Single-Engine Airplane India, David, and the Devil; Álamos, My Heart: An Expat's Tribute to Her Mexican Hometown Dust Devils, Cozy Corners, and Javelinas: A Newcomer's Tale of Tucson.
