Melissa is a full time mom to three children. She and her family currently reside in the Springfield, Illinois area. She is active in ministry at her church where her husband is pastor. Melissa is a graduate of The Ohio University School of Music, with a degree in Music Therapy. She plays piano and sings with her church praise band. Tate Publishing & Enterprises has published Melissa's first children's book, "Jonathan Jumps." This story was inspired by her youngest son, Jonathan. He liked to jump long before he could walk. She would recite to him "Jonathan jumps and he jumps!" She then started rhyming things he could do while jumping and eventually these little rhymes turned into "Jonathan Jumps." Jonathan thinks the book is "awesome mommy!"
