Martha McLaughlin served as a missionary in South America until her declining health forced her to return to the States. She eventually realized that her detoxification system had become overwhelmed and that she was being affected by chemicals found in everyday items. Much of her writing is an attempt to help others avoid being harmed in a similar way. She holds a B.S. and M.Ed. in Education and English, and has written professionally since 2006, with more than 500 articles published online.
