Margarita Nelipa

I am of Russian heritage and the daughter of war refugees who arrived in Australia in 1948. A former medical scientist with a post-graduate qualification in Legal Studies, I turned my interests to fulltime research and writing about medical, legal and historical issues related to the last decades of the Russian Imperial era. Fluent in the Russian language, I have written five books and ten articles (some are co-authored) for periodicals that included Royal Russia, Sovereign, ROSSICA and Eurohistory. I maintain web pages that include Faces of Russia's Imperial Past, Tsarskoe Selo and Pavlovsk: Past and Present, Alexander Pushkin: Life and Literature as well pages related to my earlier books, Alexander III: His Life and Reign and (revised and retitled to) Killing Rasputin: The Murder That Ended The Russian Empire. I am on the Board of the American based S.E.A.R.C.H. Foundation (whose President and Founder assisted in finding the remains of the Imperial Family in Ekaterinburg and is now searching for the remains of Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovich in Perm). I live in Canberra, Australia with my husband and dog Sasha.
