Jill Dyché—frank, funny, and full of great stories—has been thinking, writing, and speaking about business-IT alignment for over two decades. In her career as a consultant and advisor to executives across industries, she’s seen success in action and has collaborated with change agents to make it happen. Jill has lived and worked around the world, speaking at industry conferences and tech events and writing books on the topic of why corporate technologies are business-driven. (Or at least, why they should be.) She is the author of: e-Data (Addison Wesley, 2000), The CRM Handbook (Addison Wesley, 2002), and Customer Data Integration (Wiley, 2007, co-authored). Her work has been featured in Newsweek.com, HBR.org, Computerworld, and Forbes.com. Jill’s fourth book, The New IT (McGraw-Hill), confronts the crisis in corporate IT organizations. The book lays out the problem: information technology organizations are under siege. They’re marginalized as a cost center and not involved in meaningful business change. Shadow IT, Jill says, is out of the closet as business units increasingly turn to the cloud, systems integrators, and their own staffs to solve their problems. The New IT presents new questions to ask, new models to follow, and new answers for business and technology professionals wondering where their IT organizations go from here. Jill was the co-founder of Baseline Consulting, a management consulting firm that was acquired by SAS in 2011. Now an independent management consultant specializing in strategy alignment, Jill lives in Los Angeles, where she samples fringe Cabernets, rescues shelter dogs, and writes haiku recreationally.
