Jennifer Myers is a writer, speaker and prison consultant who prepares first time, non-violent offenders and their families for federal prison. She is co-founder of Voices of UNcarceration, a series of media storytelling projects that use the voices of those most affected by incarceration to advocate for change, and R.I.S.E. to Empower, a nonprofit that empowers girls and young women to make positive choices. Jennifer has been featured as a prison consultant on Inside Edition and the Lifetime special, Abby Tells All. She was on the Core Logistical Team, helping to produce the first TEDx inside a prison at R.J. Donovan Correctional, and gave a her own TEDx talk about empowering women in prison at TEDxWilmingtonWomen. Jennifer’s writing has been published in Salon Magazine, literary online journals, and in the anthology, Razor Wire Women, co-edited by Jodie Lawston. In Trafficking the Good Life she documents her journey from professional dancing to marijuana trafficking, to arrest and incarceration, to rebuilding a life of purpose and ethical pursuit.
