I am an epidemiologist and have been on the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Stony Brook University School of Medicine. I have studied a wide range of lifestyle and environmental factors associated with cancer and other diseases. I'm the author of "Hyping Health Risks" (2008) and, most recently, "Getting Risk Right: Understanding The Science Of Elusive Health Risks." I have written about how perceptions regarding health risks square with what the science is telling us for Forbes, Slate, Science 2.0, and the American Council on Science and Health.
