Gail M Baugniet uses an eclectic employment history to inform current writing projects. Over the years, reading and writing were an integral part of her work as an Insurance Underwriter, Statistical Coder, and Claims Adjuster; as a Professional Realtor; as a Police Reservist and Part Time Peace Officer; and finally, as a Security Dispatcher. During this time, she also composed short stories and haiku poetry for private enjoyment. Now that there is time to write novels, her lifetime experiences offer plenty of background material for a planned mystery series. Her first novel, FOR EVERY ACTION There Are Consequences, is set in Chicago's Loop and introduces Hawaiian-born Pepper Bibeau as an Insurance Investigator whose assignments sometimes lead her into a mystery maze of murder! In the second novel, DEADLY AS NATURE, Pepper sticks closer to home in eastern Wisconsin. Honolulu, on the island of O'ahu, has been Gail's home since 1992. She is a member and past president of Sisters in Crime/Hawaii, (SinC/HI) the local chapter of Sisters in Crime, Inc. She is also a member of the critique group Waikiki Word Wranglers and Hawaii Fiction Writers. In 2012, Gail accepted her first National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) challenge to write 50,000 words in 30 days. The result of her efforts was WITH FIERY VENGEANCE, set in Hawaii and released in Winter, 2013. NESHOTO JUNCTION HOMICIDE followed in January, 2016 and BLOOD RED HOMICIDE the next year. Taking a break from writing mysteries, Gail composed 70 linking poems in August, 2015. ANOTHER NEW BEGINNING 70 Poems for 70 Days was compiled as a birthday gift to herself and copies were given to 70 of her closest family members and friends. The small book of renshi-style poetry is now available on Amazon. Gail continues to focus on writing mysteries while planning future short stories, novellas, poetry, and a genealogical novel* based on her decades of family research. One of her favorite parts of telling a story is the research portion. Her latest Pepper Bibeau mystery, BLOOD RED HOMICIDE, is set in Red Sox country and includes a range of topics from baseball (e.g. major and minor leagues) to childhood cancer (e.g. leukemia and Jimmy Fund). While not all the details of her research finds its way into the story, many topics are featured in blog posts at http://gail-baugniet.blogspot.com You can visit with Gail at her blogsite, at Twitter: @GailMBaugniet and at other social media sites around the web. *Update: The genealogical novel mentioned above became: SHARDS OF MEMORY - Oral History in a Heartbeat: a novel. The print book is now available at Amazon.com
