Dr. Von Stieff recently debuted his first book, Brain in Balance: Understanding the Genetics and Neurochemistry behind Addiction and Sobriety. A product of his research and experience as a board-certified addictionologist, Brain in Balance’s purpose is to help both the individuals who suffer from alcoholism and substance abuse and the medical professionals who work with them. Dr. Von Stieff is a recognized expert in the field of chemical dependency treatment. He works as a Medical Director for a hospital-based Behavioral Health Center and also runs his own family practice. As an avid researcher, he provides the most cutting-edge and effective treatment to his patients by continually discovering and refining advanced techniques, along with designing medication regimens that make detoxifications comfortable, quick, and safe.
Dr. Von Stieff recognizes the importance of educating patients and empowering them to take control of their recovery. He regularly holds conferences and gives lectures to patients and their loved ones, as well as doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, counselors, and other medical professionals, teaching about his methods of focusing on neurotransmitters and cravings throughout treatment. When he is not working to advance the field of detoxification, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three grown children, as well as working on his ranch with his horses and goats.
