Ella Shines Goldsmith was born in Jackson,Mississippi in 1959 and grew up during the Civil Rights movement in the 1960’s. She enjoys history and writes about her ancestors and their trials and triumphs in American from 1800 to 1980. Major focus of her writings are on Slavery and Civil Rights in America. Ella graduated from Southern University A &M University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a minor in English. She enjoys doing research on her family history, traveling and antique shopping. She has two children and 4 grandchildren.
