Dick Gillman is a Yorkshireman who, after 25 years teaching the three Sciences, retired and moved to the North coast of Brittany, France in 2008 with his wife Alex and two dogs. Since then, they have 'acquired' a Breton Tabby cat, Jean-Claude... or rather, Jean-clawed! During his retirement, he has continued to paint in both watercolour and acrylic and, more recently, has begun to use a digital medium. He has now written over twenty-five Sherlock Holmes stories, in the original short story format, which have been successfully published as both as e-books and paperbacks. In October, 2015, he was selected to contribute the anchor story to Volume II of the superb, World Record beating (and ongoing), Sherlock Holmes anthology published by MX Publishing. Since then, he has submitted further stories and had his tales, featuring his signature character, Julia Moriarty, published as paperbacks in both English and Italian.
