Derek Evans is a young entrepreneur, songwriter, and author from Reading, PA. Growing up Derek never had any intentions of writing a book, as his primary interests were sports, music, and business. After a life-changing event in October 2016, where he collapsed at work due to his dysautonomia, he began to find the itch to publish a book. With not many resources on how to write and publish a book, he had to learn almost everything on his own. In March 2017, he published his first book titled "So Close to Death Yet So Far Away."
Besides Derek dedicating his time advocating for Dysautonomia, Derek also encourages others to chase their dreams and write their own book through his book "Make Your Book a Reality." Outside of being an author, Derek has become a keynote speaker, speaking for art shows, college classes, businesses and much more. He has a passion for positively impacting people to overcome obstacles in their life, chasing their dreams and spends lots of time giving back to his community. He has appeared on WFMZ 69 news, the Reading Eagles, BCTV, Berks County Living Magazine and much more.
