Daniel P. McCarthy is a monk of St Benedict's Abbey, Atchison, Kansas. He earned a Doctorate of Sacred Liturgy from the Pontifical Institute of Liturgy, Sant'Anselmo, Rome, in 2008. He writes on prayers of the liturgy, on liturgical architecture and ritual with †James Leachman and on the Latin language in collaboration with †Reginald Foster. He lectures on the history and theology of liturgy and teaches the Latin language at the Pontifical Liturgy Institute, Rome, and at the Institutum Liturgicum, Ealing, London, UK, and as a guest professor of the post-graduate faculty of theology of KU Leuven, Belgium. He offers consultation to communities renovating or building a church. He serves on the editorial board of the periodical "Questions Liturgiques/ Studies in Liturgy" and has published there and in "The Tablet" of London as well as in other journals.
