Christopher Payne was born in London, England, and has spent most of his life (except three years as an student at Cambridge University) living in various parts of London. During that time, he worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and at various financial institutions in the City of London, including JPMorgan. He then completed a Ph.D at the London School of Economics which formed the basis for his first book, The Consumer, Credit, and Neoliberalism. Through thick and thin, he has remained a constant and faithful supporter of Crystal Palace Football Club. In 2009, having moved around London more often than he cared to, he set his sights on moving around the world. Since then, he has lived in Durham, North Carolina; Washington, DC; Krakow, Poland; and Kuwait City. He currently lives in Abu Dhabi with his wife and three children. Throughout his working life, up until his early 30s, Chris was overweight. By the turn of 2004, he was obese. Since then, he has lost weight and successfully overcome his inclination to overeat. The habits he's developed to win this battle are explained in his second book, The Economists' Diet, which he co-wrote with his good friend Rob Barnett. As he has traveled around the world, he has noticed that he is not alone in the weight struggle! You can follow Chris and Rob on Twitter @econdiet
