My history is a story of varied experiences in various venues. My resume, of sorts, is a laundry list of experience: a furniture mover, grave digger, freight hauler, gold miner, window washer, insulation installer, firefighter, collegiate soccer player and coach, high school English teacher, wilderness healing school logistics manager, librarian, tree worker, tracking and wilderness survival student . . . that list makes a person wonder what my calling in life has been. I never really recognized a calling . . . until I started the writing of Edge Walker. This world of the Edge Walker is much like ours - mysterious and always unfolding. Vast and amazing.

In 2001, I tried my hand at writing and produced two non-fiction books: a soccer coaching manual and a book about improving focus. It taught me much about finishing a book and publishing it. Twelve years later, I began the journey of the Edge Walker Stories. This came about while my wife, Ann Mary, and I were living on the Navajo reservation in northeastern Arizona. A place of beauty populated by a people of beauty.

The story emerged organically. One day, scenes began playing out in my mind, knocking on my conscience to start writing them down. As the months went by, I wrote when the story insisted. Edge Walker is the first and Into the Veil is the second in the series.
