Chip St. Clair is the author of The Butterfly Garden (HCI 2008), a compelling memoir of hope, triumph, and the true measure of strength each of us has when we can simply gain the courage to look within. St. Clair was a featured author at the Book Expo of America, and participated in the Levy Meijer READ THIS! book tour. In 2005, St. Clair received a U.S. Congressional Record for his ardent child advocacy, and has helped to pass laws in three States that better protect children. In 2007, St. Clair and his wife and high school sweetheart of 17 years, Lisa, founded SCBF.org, a national nonprofit aimed at providing youth in underprivileged communities with mentorship programs based in the creative arts. St. Clair's mission is to eradicate the notion that children of sordid backgrounds are defined by their surroundings and destined to continue a cycle of suffering. St. Clair delivers riveting and motivational lectures, and has keynoted countless conferences nationwide. Since its release, his memoir has been incorporated into the curriculum of middle and high schools, universities, juvenile detention facilities, as well as treatment programs around the world. The Butterfly Garden has been translated into Lithuanian (Drugelių sodas), and is in pre-production for major motion picture.
