Cheryl Ann Reed grew up on a small farm in north Idaho and began writing at a young age to try and make sense of the world. She began riding horses at about 4 years old, so writing about horses seemed like the most natural thing to do. Cheryl eventually earned a master's degree in English and began to write for the Appaloosa Journal. It was here that she began work on her first book, "The Legendary Appaloosa," which won a 2007 book of the year award. This book became the catalyst for her second book, "Horses That Save Lives," which was re-published in paperback under a new title: "Rescued by a Horse." She has also co-authored the book "Wrangling Snakes" in 2010, and in 2016 self-published "Preparing Teachers: a history of teacher education at the University of Idaho." Cheryl lives in Moscow, Idaho, and continues to enjoy horses, gardening, and writing.
