Buckner F. Melton Jr.

Buckner F. Melton, Jr. holds a doctorate in history from Duke University and a law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he taught law for several years. Melton has authored books in many fields, including biography, law and legal textbooks, naval history, and constitutional history. A specialist in impeachment law, Melton served as a commentator for NPR, PBS, MSNBC, and ABC and as an advisor to various members of Congress during the impeachment of President Bill Clinton. Melton currently hosts Naval History Podcast, an iTunes featured podcast. Melton also co-hosts Observations, a weekly television show produced at WMUB. Melton's extracurricular interests include photography, SCUBA diving, amateur radio (Amateur Extra license AC4YF), technical theatre, and Taekwando. While he builds his own computers, Melton prides himself on having composed all of his many books exclusively with fountain pens, of which he is an avid collector.
