My name is William Dunaway, and this is my wife and co-author, Cindy. We have been married for over 22 years. After serving 17 years in the Army as a 35 Foxtrot- Intelligence Analyst and as a 19 Delta- Armored Reconnaissance Specialist, due to an injury, I had to take early medical retirement. After the service, I served as a police officer for five years, which included working one-year undercover. Now we are trying to live a "life of leisure" on a 90-acre farm forty-five miles to the southeast of Kansas City, Mo, where we have our horses and a very large population of deer and wild turkey. We wrote our first novel as a personal challenge and we made every type of mistake we could have made. Even though I was always attracted to sociology, most of my formal education did not really prepare me to be an author. It consisted of some college, but mainly professional flight school, the U.S. Army, and police academy. English literature and grammar were never a priority. Where most of our education came from was our life experiences and the school of hard knocks, which is always the best type of teacher. We hope you enjoy our first attempt at writing anything, besides a three-book series.
