Cleverly bio Artist/Writer Michael Cleverly lives in a log cabin in Woody Creek, six miles from Aspen Colorado. He arrived in the Aspen area in the early 1970’s and never managed to escape. For ten years, he wrote a column for The Aspen Times, he co-authored “The Kitchen Readings: Untold Stories of Hunter S. Thompson,” is a regular contributor to Aspen Sojourner Magazine and is the Aspen Bureau Chief for The Vile Plutocrat www.thevileplutocrat.com . He is at work on a novel “Shepard of the Stars,” a love story about genetic memory. As an artist, in the 70’s and 80’s his focus was on commissioned portraits and paintings of friends. He is currently doing portraits of his stacks of cordwood, decaying trailer parks, and renderings from antique family photographs, Cleverly has shown and been collected across the United States.
