*First let me start off by saying thank you all so much for supporting me...and PLEASE BE AWARE THAT DICE IS THE CONTINUATION TO THE SHORT STORY IN CREAMS ANTHOLOGY ROLLIN' DICE! Thank you! Much Luv!!!! T.N. Baker is a product of the quote, 'Hard work pays off.' Before becoming an Essence Magazine bestseller she worked as a receptionist during the day and bartended at night. Her drive for success led her to enroll in college preparatory classes. There she was able to take a creative writing course and hone a longtime hobby into a passion and career. 'When I was younger, creative writing and language arts were always my favorite classes. I didn't realize I had a passion for writing until I put pen to paper and wrote my first few poems.' Baker began writing poetry when she was about 17 years old. These poems began to manifest into short stories which she shared with her class. The author's first few pieces were descriptions of how her parents met and their relationship's turmoil. She then began to develop characters for a story called Sheisty. After reading a few passages of this multi-plot tale, her teacher began to push the option of writing as a career to T.N. Baker's writing teacher sent the story to Vickie Stringer, publisher of Triple Crown Publications. Stringer loved what she read and gave T.N. a two book deal. Sheisty went on to become a national bestseller as well as its sequel, Still Sheisty. T.N.'s stories are filled with passion, betrayal, friendship and drama. These were the elements that made the 1994 book, The Coldest Winter Ever, a page turner. The Sistah Souljah novel just happens to be the first book Baker ever read. 'That book really sparked my interest for reading. Each character was so rich as every scene poured off the pages and into my imagination so vividly. I hope readers are able to visualize my adaptations just like that,' said Baker. 'I'd like for my readers to take away from this novel that sometimes you can't help who you love. Although they may have wronged you in the past, sometimes it's just meant to be. Love can conquer all,' said T.N. about Dice's message. Although Baker's books are drama-packed, she is mildly mannered and is a self proclaimed homebody. She does however, likes to travel abroad and spends time with her daughter. T.N. Baker was born and raised in Jamaica Queens, NY and currently resides in Charlotte, NC with her 12-year old daughter.
