If there's one thing that intrigues me it's people. Their passions, their motives, their actions, their achievements and their tragedies. And because I'm interested in how life has changed over the last hundred years, I write about recent history, spanning the period from 1900 - to the present day.
I don't write to a format - unless the format is that every book is different! The backgrounds are varied; medical, dog racing, public houses, cinemas, docklands, boxing, but what is always the same is that the books are about people. How they survive, how they triumph against sometimes impossible odds.
We not talking rags to riches, we talking adversity to triumph - and doesn't everyone want to read about that?
My other books, under the name of ALEX CONNOR, are art based thrillers. Tough and fast paced they take the reader into the closed world of 20th Century art dealing. Set in two different time frames, one historical, the other contemporary, the books delve into the lives of some of the most famous Old Masters and the internecine fighting of the art market.
