Publisher's summary

The sparks of unexpected passion ignite in this electrifying GhostWalker novel from number-one New York Times best-selling author Christine Feehan.

When Malichai Fortunes attacks a problem, he does it full force - a habit that earns the GhostWalker a painful injury and a forced vacation in San Diego, California. With nothing but physical therapy on the horizon, Malichai is starting to get restless...until a striking blue-eyed blonde makes all his senses come alive.

Amaryllis is kind and warm and sees beyond Malichai's rough exterior, but he can tell there's something she's hiding. Her innate healing abilities indicate she might be a GhostWalker - albeit an untrained one. Malichai doesn't think their crossing paths is anything more than coincidence, but he can sense that one wrong word could send Amaryllis running.

When strange events at his temporary retreat put Malichai on high alert, he knows he won't be able to deal with the threat and keep his woman safe in his weakened state. But calling in his brothers means telling Amaryllis what he really is, and revealing that he knows the truth about her too....

Thrilling!

I love the plots in this series...but the sex scenes are a bit dragged out and xxx rated. Fast forward through them, and it’s a great book. Like really, who NEEDS like entire chapters totally describing unrealistic out of this world sex? About two sentences in I’m fast forwarding to make sure I don’t miss important conversations...but just ugh.
It’s way too much!

Jim Frangione is FABULOUS. His voice is sexy as HELL. I will listen to anything by him!!

Another good listen

I've listed to most of this series, read the rest. Jim is simply the best performer and I enjoy them even if it's not my favorite story. With an hour commute each way to and from work, more if traffic stinks, I get to listen to a lot. I enjoyed this addition to the series as well.

enjoyed it

📖 Story comment: Good pace, I enjoyed Malachai's character better than the MC's of the last couple of books and there were a few different things going on in this story to make it interesting. Was a bit long for me, beginning and ends were good, but I was looking to see how long was left around the 10 hour mark.

🎧 Narrator comment: Jim Franjione has good inflections and each character has distinct voices, so its generally easy to tell the characters apart, however there were a few occasions when the narration was too similar and I was a little lost on who was speaking. I also don't think he suits this series, his narration style is too passive and he doesn't intone the right underlying level of strength and tension the GhostWalkers should have. Listened to the book at 1.2x speed which is something I hate doing as nuances in the narration get lost.

📌 Where does it fall on my personal scale? 5 - would listen again if i'm doing a series re-listen.
• 1 not my thing • 2 didn't like the narration • 3 didn't keep my attention • 4 was good, but once was enough • 5 enjoyed it • 6 will listen again if i'm in the mood for the narrator • 7 goes on the "re-listen" list • 8 kept me up past bed-time • 9 recommended to family/friends • 10 own it in multiple formats • 11 keep a copy with me at all times

slow but riveting

Malichai Fortunes, brother of Ezekiel and Mordachai, finally meets the one woman meant for him. Injured on a previous mission where he thought he would surely die, Malichai is forced to go on "vacation " to fully recuperate. When he arrives at the B&B picked out for him by Wyatt's "little vipers, the triplets. he encounters Amaryllis Johnson. Malichai suspects almost from the beginning that she is a Ghost Walker just like him a d on the ring from Whitney. The two uncover a plot to kill thousands at a conference and when his leg is further injured, Malichai is forced to call for help from his team. This was a fantastic read filled with action, intrigue and surprise. A truly worthy addition to this series.

Another Great Ghost Walker book!!

Malichai is awesome. Strong silent type. There was a diverse story line throughout the book that kept the story going in several directions and had this reader hooked! I enjoyed the various plots and how they played out. I highly recommended this book.
