Publisher's summary

A King takes what he wants. He wants me.

When my life was threatened, Michael King didn't just take matters into his own hands.

He took me.

When he carried me off it was partly to protect me, but mostly it was because he wanted me.

I didn't choose to go with him, but it wasn't up to me. That's why I'm naked, wet, and sore in an opulent Swiss chalet with my bottom still burning from the belt of the infuriatingly sexy mafia boss who brought me here, punished me when I fought him, and then savagely made me his.

We'll return when things are safe in New Orleans, but I won't be going back to my old home.

I belong to him now, and he plans to keep me.

Publisher's Note: King's Hostage is a stand-alone novel which is the second entry in the Merciless Kings series. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

🌻A bit more believable, than the last book🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas 🌻🌻🌻🌻

This has the common theme of, emotionally damaged man determined not to let anyone in. I admit, I’m getting a bit bored, with it. Therefore, I’m not continuing with this series, for awhile, I need something different.

As far as Mafia type series, I’d give this a C rating; pretty average middle of the road.

Deliciously dark and I love it!

The Thomas and Piper combo strikes again in this amazing new audio series. I love the King family and the complex world Piper has built. As always Thomas is incredible and I love his fantastic narration. I was hanging on the edge of my seat with this one! I can't wait for more from his world and this author narrator combo.

great

Suspenseful, action and drama filled romance that sizzles. The connection and passions between the two main characters is palpable. I liked how Danielle and the kiddos bonded quickly and meaningfully. This is one dangerous hero with a heart and I enjoyed the ride. Great conclusion. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did an excellent job bringing the characters and story to life. I highly recommend this book.

Absolutely love this series!

This was the best Merciless Kings story yet! Thomas's narration was excellent, he is quickly becoming my favorite dark romance narrator. Micheal has twins that mean the world to him. When their favorite teacher is almost kidnapped, Micheal takes things into his own hands and takes her to protect her.
This story has twists and turns, as the reader is wondering along with Micheal if she really is involved with her brother's drug affiliations. Daniella is a strong woman with an incredible attraction to Micheal. She doesn't appreciate his actions but she finds she cares for his children and him more than she would like.
A great story that Thomas Locklear brings to life for the audible listener.
Bring on more of these steamy hot and dangerous books Piper Stone!

A listening treat!

Really enjoyed this one! The character persona is perfect. I could really feel the coldness and calculatedness of Michael when it was warranted. Then there is him laughing and having fun…two complete opposites within him. It really was interesting to watch him in different situations. I loved all the ups and downs of this. I listened on audio and Thomas Locklear is just amazing! I really love all the different voices he comes up with. May I just say he is a perfect mafia reader.

Great mafia romance

Michael and Daniella’s story is an interesting twist on the mafia kidnapping trope. He actually initially takes her in order to protect her - he’s meeting with her at school about his children, and they are attacked, she exposes the face of her attacker before they escape, which instantly puts her at risk as a “loose end”. Since Michael needs leave to protect his children, he decides that taking their teacher with will work well, also, so she can tutor them. But Daniella has some interesting family ties that muddy the waters, and Michael becomes suspicious of her before realizing she’s an innocent in the whole mess, and he completely falls for her. I find it a bit interesting that Daniella only perceives their situation as a kidnapping, despite the fact that he is actually protecting her from another attack. At first she is belligerent, and she fights the chemistry she feels between them, but of course it’s only a matter of time before they both succumb. Steamy and emotional, it’s a great second installment of the Merciless Kings series.

Audiobook review: The narration is very well done. Thomas Locklear is excellent with the broody, growly, alpha males, and surprisingly good with the female characters as well. I will always prefer a dual narration whenever possible, but I have to say, not all male narrators are able to pull of the female voice well, and he does.
