Needs duet narration

The narrator has got a great gravely voice but he’s not so great with female voices. This would have been better if they would have had a female read in her voice.

I loved this book!

First, let me say how much I love Thomas Locklear’s narration. His voices are unique, smooth, and delivered so every line rings with honesty and emotion. His female voices are outstanding- I often forget that I’m listening to a male narrator, he’s that good.

Hawk is an Afghan war vet and military contractor forced to return home when his family is hit with tragedy. He’s closed off, suffering from PTSD and survivors’ guilty, and trying to navigate his way in a civilian world that is foreign to him. Brice is an up and coming tv journalist, working a small market in Missoula, Montana. Their worlds collide, and sparks fly from the start.

Ms. Stone’s books are a fun, sexy listen if you enjoy rough romance and VERY dominant men. Make no mistake though- Brice is very intelligent, soft-reliant, brave, and confident. She faces even what she fears if it means getting to the truth.

Ms. Stone also wrote honestly about the difficulties of a solider transitioning back to civilian life. The PTSD scenes are well-written, empathetic, and believable. I loved seeing these characters learn to open up and trust that they both really are deserving of love.

Special Ops Alpha Male, good mystery, and more

Who could ask for more than an intriguing mystery that brings a tough demanding special ops pro together with a tenacious female journalist, and even though she gets spanked by him in public, their common goals bring them together. And on top of that there is a very young niece who has lost both parents. Lots of threads to pull on the emotions, some very steamy sex, and a good story line.
My first experience of Thomas Locklear as narrator -- I love his voice, though I might not have matched him with this character. But I got over that quickly and hope to find more of his narrations.
My first Piper Stone novel -- I like her work and will look for more of her audio books too.
Go for it!!

Alpha hero impetuous heroine

Really enjoyed the intrigue in this story but was a bit aggravated with the heroine's habit of jumping into the fire without thought. The narration was good for the most part although seemed hurried sometimes.

Piper Stone has written another hot action packed story. It was also heartfelt to the end.
Thomas Locklear is a fabulous narrator! His deep sexy voice will keep you interested. He can draw you right into the characters and you will think you are watching the scenes in person.

Well, after listening to the opening scene, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to finish this book. In the opening scene, the Hero, who had never met the Heroine before, bared her bottom and spanked her raw. This event took place in a Ranch supply store, full of people. The Heroine didn’t press assault and battery charges and no one stepped in or called the cops. Really? The story got a little better, after that. There was some action, mystery and intrigue. There was also an abduction, after threats of retribution. The narrator had a sexy voice but did struggle performing female voices. Dual or duet narration would have been so much more entertaining.

In conclusion, this book was barely passable; wait for a sale, to purchase this one.

This is a must listen to book . Amazing and exciting story, the narrator did an amazing job with doing all the characters.

Piper Stone writes a suspenseful story filled with action, intrigue, hot, scorching hot rough love scenes, twists, turns and of course, an ending I did not see coming. This masterpiece is brought to life by the world class narration of Thomas Locklear. Every voice clearly identifiable, recognizable and consistent throughout the entire eight hours of the story! As soon as the culprit spoke in the “reveal” scene, I knew who it was just from the voice! You would swear that this was a full cast production, but you would be wrong ladies and gents. Just one fabulous narrator! If you haven’t already, grab this one! You won’t be sorry. I loved it! There aren’t enough stars in the world!
