Flint is tall, gorgeous and dangerous. He’s a cyborg - the absolute ultimate alpha male. He takes what he wants and holds what is his. Mira is his now. He takes her aboard his ship and has her branded with his mark. He captured her, owns her, and she will serve his every need.

Mira is instantly drawn to Flint, fascinated by his seductive appeal. The sex between them is smoking hot. Until she finds out he is a breeder, contracted to a dozen cyborg women, and she is no more than a possession.

Mira won’t share her cyborg and she belongs to no one - not even to a man who has captured her heart. She doesn’t know if cyborgs feel... anything. Can Flint love her? Mira is determined to find out, no matter how much trouble she makes for the big guy.

Reader Advisory: This book contains a sexy, voyeuristic bondage scene in which Flint generously demonstrates his sizzling skills for the benefit of another cyborg.

Editorial reviews

Laurann Dohner's vision of an intergalactic future, with its fleshed-out history and cultural tensions, sets the stage for dark master/slave fantasies to play out in unexpected ways. Mindy Kennedy's performance captures both the rawness and the sweetness of the emotional roller coaster Mira and Flint are forced to ride as their different worlds collide in equal parts pleasure and pain.

Sure to satisfy fans of Dohner's New Species and Mating Heat series, Burning Up Flint is a quick and sexy listen that's difficult to pause as it teases listeners with the question of whether this budding cyborg-human romance can survive.
Steamy Scenes • Engaging Storyline • Excellent Narration • Strong Alpha Males • Erotic Romance • Quick Pacing

Many others did enjoy this story. The reviews said as much and that is why I purchased this. But at the half way point I was mad. Not because it was poorly written or the audio was bad. It was well written and well performed. Well enough that it provoked an emotional response from me. It was the idea of Mira being property, the debasement of a woman, cyborg with limited humanity or no. From the start the idea of her debasement being sexy was not appealing to me. But hey every romance needs a conflict so I rallied behind her arguments to the fact that she was not a thing to be owned. I was even in agreement with her not so well thought out plan that landed her in the predicament that made me shut off the audio and not want to read anymore; it’s not like she had a lot of options to run with. Basically she wanted to be seen understood and loved not owned. Even though it seemed a bit Stockholm-ish that she was in love with her owner at all. It’s a fictional sifi erotic novel so everyone excuses how “quickly” Mira capitulates and falls for Flint then just as quickly decides she just can’t abide by Flint insisting she is mere property and she must escape him. And Flint was toeing the line of not being book boyfriend material and then how he treats her after her botched plan ... well ... I was fuming mad. I was in the mood to fly through the stars with an impossible man, have a bit of adventure and read some steamy scenes. I guess I wasn’t in the mood to have my women’s lib button pushed tonight. I didn’t hate this but it did trigger my anger button so if your feeling emotional you may want to hold off until your not feeling so sensitive and man stabby. I will revisit this another time and hopefully be able to not have such a strong reaction to Mira’s situation or Flints a$&holery!

I got mad....

Struggled with the enslavement part, then gave up at the unrealistic responses Mira showed back at the cyborg planet. Wanted to like this, I can see why some do, but this is just not for me.

Rapey and not believeable
