The main thing I didn’t like is the voice actors. They didn’t play their roles right? It should’ve been a different girl, like the story sounds good, but overall, I just didn’t like how it played out.

​🎧 Audiobook Review: Bought by Santa by B. Lybaek

​This was my final listen of the year, and I’m glad I picked it!

​The Plot: A true mafia romance set around the holidays. The Christmas setting mostly serves as a deadline mechanism (the classic "must produce an heir by Christmas" trope), but it works well here. While the story is a bit repetitive and common, it was still a great read.

​The Characters: I felt terrible for the FMC Carolina initially as she had lost everyone, but seeing her gain a family with Nick was satisfying. The highlight for me? She isn't just arm candy. She wasn't born into the mafia, but she steps up as a true partner who stands toe-to-toe with her husband. Finally, a wife with agency!
​The Ratings:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Story: Enjoyable, though a bit cut and dry.
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Spice: Mostly vanilla/tame, however, there is one specific scene with a swing that almost pushed this to a 5/5 on the heat scale.
​One of the better holiday reads for 2025! Merry Christmas, and catch you on the flip side. ✌️

This was a very good book that I thoroughly enjoyed. Nick was extremely possessive and would unalive any man for touching Carolina. She was very close to her sister Willow, who was paralyzed in an accident that unalived their father. Nicklas’ father was horrible and got what he deserved. His sister was a piece of work, but was under the thumb of her husband, who bought her. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Troy Duran and Lucy Rivers did a great job with the narration.
