This is a good book, but not a great book. It's easy to sit through and follow. The narrator isn't horrible. And if you are a fan of zombies, then thi..Show More »s is an interesting story that sets the stage for the other two hopefully to finish off. I did research on the book and discovered its first in a trilogy, so don't expect to have all your questions answered right off the bat. It can get pretty cheesy at times, but you can tell it's on purpose and meant to lighten the mood. I found myself saying "Did she really just write that?!" a few times during some of the dialog or zombie executions. The couple is believable to an extent, but for the parts that aren't you just don't care because its just a fun little read. So, all my complaints that I could have about it considered, I just don't care. I enjoyed myself, and I think you will too. Just don't expect it to be the most profound writing ever. It's very lighthearted for most of it, to counterbalance some of the deep depressing sections that you have to have in order for there to be any drama in a zombie apocalypse. I recommend this because of it's entertainment value. It's not as depressing as some things (except a few pretty sad moments), but you still get your fill of zombie fun.
I went into this audiobook expecting a shoot-em-up with nothing more than "jobs" completed, and a little plot relating to the couples marriage, given ..Show More »the first book. What I got was that and so much more. Without spoiling it, I'll just say that Sarah and David end up doing a lot more than killing zombies and bonding.
This series is a refreshing addition to the zombie genre, and I'd recommend it to all those who seek rotting corpses getting their butts kicked (though I imagine kicking zombies in the butt would just be squishy and gross; I recommend aiming for the head)!

First Thought when Finished: Eat Slay Love was an interesting journey and some really good kick ass action!
Overall Thoughts: Eat Slay Love was not my favorite book in the series but it was still very enjoyable. Sarah & David are still kicking ass but also dealing with David's "difference (fall out from Flip This Zombie). I have to admit that I really loved the edition of a couple of characters (won't give spoilers but these two come in fairly early--one girl, one guy). Jesse writes really great characters. They are often filled with spunk and vigor. I was glad to see that there is a 4th book in the series! The last of the book would have worked as an ending point but I think there was still so much story left to tell. I will be picking it up soon!
Narrated By Cassandra Campbell /Length: 7 hrs and 53 mins
I am usually a fan of Cassandra Campbell but overall she wasn't a great fit for me and this series. I think she did a stellar job with Sarah but I never warmed up to her voice of David. However, it is mostly because I had "David" in my head a different way. This is usually why I won't start a series late on Audio.
Final Thought: Super glad there is a 4th book in the series.
