Publisher's summary

From the bestselling author of the Chronos series comes an enthralling novel of time travel, fast-paced action, and history-changing events.

When two time-traveling historians cross paths during one of the most tumultuous decades of the twentieth century, history goes helter-skelter. But which one broke the timeline?

In 2136 Madison Grace uncovers a key to the origins of CHRONOS, a time-travel agency with ties to her family’s mysterious past. Just as she is starting to jump through history, she returns to her timeline to find millions of lives erased - and only the people inside her house realize anything has changed.

In 2304 CHRONOS historian Tyson Reyes is assigned to observe the crucial events that played out in America’s civil rights movement. But a massive time shift occurs while he’s in 1965, and suddenly the history he sees isn’t the history he knows.

As Madi’s and Tyson’s journeys collide, they must prevent the past from being erased forever. But strange forces are at work. Are Madi and Tyson in control or merely pawns in someone else’s game?

I totally missed this world

Katherine Shaw!!!! That piece of shit Saul! Katherine Pierce- Keller and her "HUSBAND" Trey (I LOVE that they ended up together all the way in the end). Kiernan Dunne 😍😍😍 . . . I still talk about this world because more people need to read these books!!!

I love the new spin and can't wait to see what happens next.

Complicate and convoluted.

It was hard to follow all of the characters especially as an audio book. Also for people from 300 years in the future the social references were a little too 2020's.

Great Characters and multiple surprises

As with her other books, the characters are real and interesting. And, as always, Kate Rudd’s audiobook performance amplified the characters into life

That’s it?

I just kept waiting for the interesting part of the plot to break out. Nothing ever really happens. If this book wasn’t being read to me i never would have finished it

Great Start To A Series

I have listened to one of Rysa Walker’s time series before but have not done the whole series. This volume starts a new prequel series and although there are lots of mentions of characters from the other series, this book can easily stand alone without having read any of the other books.
Really enjoyed this story. Was very engaging throughout. I can easily recommend this book and I will be looking for the next one.

I pre ordered this audiobook and paid for the chance to listen and I am voluntarily leaving this review.

Narrators are horrid!

The female narrator is slightly better than the male, but they are both inclined to read very fast, without much variation in tone or intensity, and with accents and "voices" that are plain embarrassing!

The story is actually really good, much better than I would expect given the genre, and deserve a completely new recording with real actors who know how to PERFORM a story instead of just hurrying through it without emotions or the all important breaths!

For an avid consumer of Sci fi and Fantasy, it was surprising to discover a couple of completely new takes on time travel, and I really enjoyed that someone had actually written about someone making up a religion for their own benefit. The consequences must seem rather scary to the author now, in 2020, after the last 4 or 5 years... What does it feel like to have become a prophet, I wonder?

I'm confused

I'm sure that this story will resonate with sci-fi fans, but I'm not. So, I found it confusing and tedious. And I hate books that don't end the story.

The detail of the historical events were fantastic

Walker’s writing style and obvious painstaking research into history are wonderful. The readers were also really clear and their inflections were great. This was the first time I listened to an audio book and I’ll be downloading the next book in the series!

Fed my Time Travel Needs

I am a Rysa Walker fan and was very excited for this link to her Chronos Files. This is a great continuation of the original trilogy and is a bit more complicated. However, true fans will really love the continuation of the chess match. I wanted to review the chronos files while I was in the middle of it because the plot regencies they other books so heavily but the story can be enjoyed on its own.
