Another brilliant listen by Kristen Ashley. I love her biker bad boys and this one was at the top of my list with alpha male hotness. In this book w..Show More »e have the biker princess Tabby (daughter of the MC’s president) and swoon-worthy Shy (the biker club brother). They’ve both been secretly in love with each for some time but tragedy brings them together in a most unexpected way. This of course leads to lots of steamy sex and a HEA. I loved seeing characters from previous books; Tack, Tyra, Tex, Mitch, Hawk, Lee and the very fabulous Elvira! I love the Chaos MC! Come on Audible, bring us Motorcycle Man please!
Even though this is not her first book, it could still be read as a stand-alone. I will warn you that Kristen Ashley has a very unique writing style and not all appreciate her stiff dialogue or run on sentences. I for one love it.
I am a huge fan of KA. I went into this book with high expectations as the sneak peak I'd listed to at the end of "Own the wind" left me excited for H..Show More »op and Lanie's story.I read this book before I purchased the audible version and I can say this is one book where the audio version did not live up to my expectations. I think if Angela Starling had narrated this book it would have worked much better. Don't get me wrong Kate Russell worked really well in the Dream Man series but this pairing didn't work at all for me.
With that said I didn't listen to the full audio book because I couldn't get past the narrator but having read the book previously I can say this book does not stand out like "Own the Wind" (which I absolutely loved) but in many ways it still worked. I have read reviews that say there wasn't as much excitement in this book but I've come to expect that by listening to the Dream Series. I don't think each book has to be full of drama and/or excitement to be right for the characters. This book flowed well for me and while I wanted to slap Lanie and Hop a time or two It worked for me.
