Publisher's summary

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley brings a new story in her Chaos series...

When he was sixteen years old, Jagger Black laid eyes on the girl who was his. At a cemetery. During her mother’s funeral.

For years, their lives cross, they feel the pull of their connection, but then they go their separate ways.

But when Jagger sees that girl chasing someone down the street, he doesn’t think twice before he wades right in. And when he gets a full-on dose of the woman she’s become, he knows he finally has to decide if he’s all in or if it’s time to cut her loose.

She’s ready to be cut loose.

But Jagger is all in.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new listeners, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Critic reviews

“John Hartley's low, rolling narration sinks into Jagger Black's wrenching sadness over the murder of his father.... Hartley's soft intensity reflects Jagger's state of raw grief when he first meets Archie at the cemetery where his dad is buried.... Stella Bloom narrates a few chapters from Archie's point of view, sounding both frank and cute.” (AudioFile Magazine)

Amazing Book

Love Jagger. Archie is fabulous. The first sight slow burn romance is adorably cute. This a must read to continue the chaos Mc series. Jaggers story is so sweet and readers fall in love with Archie through out the book.

Again KA!

Loved this book and its characters. Could have had a better explanation of Elijah's issues. KA has a way of writing that involves and salutes everyone in the neighborhood.

🌻More romance than Dutch’s story🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I enjoyed Jag’s story, more than I did Dutch’s story. It was a bit more like the previous Chaos’ novels, without a super villain. Fans finally get to understand The chip Jag has on his shoulder. There is also more of an insight of their father’s persona, through flashbacks of conversations between Black(the father) and Tack, his best friend and former club president.

In addition, there are some amusing characters introduced; that include a drag queen and a very out spoken store clerk.

There is also a brief update on Joker and Clarissa, Dog and a few other fan favorites.

I hope that this book doesn’t mean the end of this series. I love this group and hope KA gives us more of their lives, in the future.

Worth a credit? Absolutely, yes, it’s KA and one of my favorite worlds that she has built!

Heavy but really good

This story revisits the brothers of Chaos MC and tells Jagger and Archie’s love story. I would consider it a slow burn and a friends to lovers maybe. Kristen Ashley has a very distinct style of writing her dialog and this book is no exception. She deftly handles the very deep and heavy emotions and long term effects of the loss of a parent at a young age. The character development is outstanding and incredibly thorough and you can’t help but root for these to find their HEA. John Hartley and Stella Bloom are fantastic and bring a very necessary gravitas to this performance. If you love the Chaos series you will love this one too.

FAMILY OF THE BLOOD AND THE CHOSEN

loved this journey with Jagger and Archie.. from the very beginning I was all in .. ready to ride out and feel the emotional roller coaster with this perfect pair. KA delivers one of her best in the chaos series.. I laughed, I cried and found myself twisted with apprehension and thrills of old characters on the scene and the new fun and unique personalities she introduced us to. A Must read for the die hards and a great series to start with for those new to Kristen Ashley's world .. esp if you love Alpha Bad asses !

Excellent ending to the Black brothers

And the Black Brothers are complete! Jagger and Dutch both put my emotions through the wringer! Although I liked Dutch’s story a lot. Jagger’s story was my favorite. The story of the deceased Graham Black effected both men differently but for Jagger hearing the praise and love shared about a man he doesn’t remember definitely took his toll.

Family comes in different shapes and sizes

I loved this book. I am happy she finished the story of the characters (children of Black). I wonder if Mal will have his on book someday. Thank for answering so many questions about Black. Although this is a standalone book, I recommend reading/listening to the series from the beginning. This one touched my heart. ❤️

Love the story but....

the male narrator just doesn't fit the character; don't get me wrong, he is good, great, even, but Jag is in his twenties, and the narrator sounds way older than that, so his voice took me out of the fantasy at times. Other than that, I'll always love KA
