I was reluctant to purchase this book because of the other written reviews, but the summary of all three books in the trilogy convinced me to take a c..Show More »hance. I'm glad I did. I had either listened or read all of the Susan Elizabeth Phillips books and was looking for a new author to love. I think I found it. It was a good book. I can't wait to buy the other two. Also, the narrator was the second best I've heard on these audio books. Both the book and the narrator get an A- from me.
So far I have loved all of S Mallery books
I was not disappointed with this one. It would be nice if she could turn out more books in a shorter..Show More » period of time. This was not as good as the Buchanan series, but it was a good listen
If this was the best book out of the trilogy, the other two must have been dreadful! The storyline of this book was mediocre at best, and the charact..Show More »ers were irritating rather than endearing. The dysfunctional family dynamics and the lack of basic communication had me wanting to pull my hair out! And the lead male character was tool that was so blinded by revenge that he wasn't even rational. I found no depth of character in anyone.
If you are looking for stories with heart, humor and substance, I recommend the "Buchanan" series. They display Susan Mallery's work at it's best.
