meh...

I struggled to listen to this. there is almost no character development, and as much as I like sex, there is very little story progression around too much sex. the male narrator is absolutely awful. isolde is written like an idiot that has no idea how to rule a court even tho in the last book she says her father had her attend courts and meeting and she planned to be a solo queen...and the end felt like everything just stopped in the middle of a thought. who won the battle? no idea. what happens with anna? no idea. did they stop the rouge vampire? who knows. then it picks up with a bonus chapter that is basically Christmas and everything is just dandy. so I'm just going to believe that sometime between the middle of isoldes thoughts and Christmas she exploded magic and fixed the universe, because I cannot bring myself to buy another book.

Good book

The male narrator is HORRIBLE. The writer describes the male lead and the narrator sounds like he's a stoner working as an evil assistant in a Disney movie. Such a let down and it's like nails on a chalkboard. I enjoyed the story and the female narrator was amazing.

Good, but the first book was better...

I would suggest that the two reders agree on the personality traits in the tone of voice prior to the read as this does effect the overall experience.

Good story and female narrator

Strong female main character. It was a nice change to have a female character who wanted power and to conquer territories and to be sexual. The ending was quite abrupt. Luckily, more is written from the female character’s point of view because the male narrator was so bad I considered not continuing.

Meh

Not as good as the first and the ending is dull. The characters just continue on the same old tropes as te first. this reads like fan fiction of the first book.

“No one wants us to be powerful..."

“Magic will always be dangerous so long as women practice,” she said. “No one wants us to be powerful. They taught us that once, and they will teach us again.”

79% I don't think I've ever cried this hard at work listening to a book. Just rip out my fucking heart and stomp on it because that would hurt less.

It was just downhill for my heart after that point. Until that bonus scene from the audiobook. If not for that I doubt I could have managed to go on with my day...week...life until the next book.

HUGE thank you to NetGalley and Tantor Audio for the opportunity to listen to and review this audio version of Queen of Myth and Monsters. I've been waiting to read this book since the second I finished King of Battle and Blood. Adrian and Isolde are EVERYTHING.

Here we are pretty much right where we left off at the end of KBB. Things are happening and they are both good and bad. So many things come to light in this book, there are betrayals and tears and frustration but also happiness and love. One of the betrayals (yes, I said one because there are more than one) in this book hurt a lot worse than the others. I definitely saw that last one coming though. Of course now there are also new questions and things that were left untold that we get to wonder how will come out in the next one. I'll be waiting on release day to find out the answers!

Absolutely Amazing ❤️

I absolutely love Adrian and Isolde. Their story has had so many twists and turns. The challanges they face and overcome in this story show us so many sides of these characters.❤️❤️ I can not wait to see how all the open pieces left come together in the next story. I hope we get to explore more of the bread crumbs Scarlett has given us in this story. The bonus story is absolutely everything we could ever ask for the narration of this story is so well done I can not recommend these books enough.

I was hesitant but enjoyed the story

The narration throws you off. There are a lot of scene changes without any transition time so it feels jumpy. Good story over all through
