An autism cure will kill millions unless a service dog and his trainer find a missing child...in 24 hours.
An auntsearches for her lost nephew - and dooms her sister.
A mom gambles a miracle will cure - and not kill - her child.
A dog finds his true purpose - when he disobeys.
Animal behaviorist September Day has lost everything - husband murdered, career in ruins, confidence shot - and returns home with her trained Maine Coon cat, Macy, to Texas to recover. She's forced out of hibernation when her nephew Steven and his autism service dog Shadow disappear in a freak blizzard. When her sister trusts a maverick researcher's promise to help Steven, September has 24 hours to rescue them from a devastating medical experiment impacting millions of children, a deadly secret others will kill to protect. As September races the clock, the body count swells. Shadow does his good-dog duty but can't protect his boy. Finally September and Shadow forge a stormy partnership to rescue the missing and stop the nightmare cure. But can they also find the lost parts of themselves?

Hire a good narrator

I was surprised that the author did the narration as well. She did a magnificent job with the telling of her story. I enjoyed the characters accents, especially Pam's voice. I was able to recognize each character with the distinguishing accents she gave them. She brought this story to life and I would love to hear more stories that she's narrated, even if they're not her own. I received this audio in exchange for an honest review.

I read the book when it first came out so I didn't know if I would like this version. It turned out I certainly did. Hearing the author read her book gave it a whole new dimension. It is a great story and I am looking forward to the next one. A problem I didn't expect is whether to read it or listen to it. I may do both.Lost and Found

I have recieved this audiobook in exchange for an unbiased review.I am very suprised that this audiobook has been hiddden away, I have never heard of the author before.I can see that she has written lots of non fiction books about dog and cat behavior .
So it's rather unusaul that she is able to write such a competant thriller(fiction). Obviously the backgroud story is her field of expertise, and this is very clear throughout the book.
Even if you are not interested in dogs ,or their behavior, this one has a lot more to offer, suspense throughout and an inventive and interesteing plot.
I was a bit dubious when I realised it was the author herself that narrates this book( only because of previous experience- its rare that the author does a good job of narrating books.) but Amy actually does a good job, my only (slight) critisism would be that most of her male voices sound old and croaky, but not so bad that it is annoying or a distraction.
Good Job :-)
great thriller ... dog lover or not
